CNC Programmer

Our clients based close to Portsmouth have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Sliding Head Programmer, Setter, Operator to join their growing team. The Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Sliding Head Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC sliding head lathes. Key Responsibilities Program, set, and operate CNC sliding head machines Write and edit CNC programs using Fanuc controls Carry out part inspection using standard measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.) Ensure components are produced to tight tolerances and quality standards Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting Collaborate with the team and assist in training less experienced staff Maintain a clean and safe working environment Essential Skills & Experience: Extensive experience with CNC sliding head lathes (Star or similar) Proficient in programming and editing using Fanuc controls Able to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation Skilled in using precision measuring instruments Strong attention to detail and quality-driven Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior staff Salary and Benefits Competitive Salary 25 days holiday plus bank/public hols Additional 3 days off over the festive period Employee Assistance Programme Company pension scheme Life Cover 3x salary Company bonus scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Weekend call out at an additional rate.
