As we scale into our next chapter, we’re looking for a confident, capable HR Manager to lead our people strategy, build a strong culture, and drive performance across the team. The Role We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our leadership team and take full ownership of our HR function. You’ll play a strategic and operational role in shaping our people agenda — driving culture, performance, wellbeing, and growth. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, bringing fresh thinking, structure, and discipline to our people operations — while ensuring we stay true to our values and scale in the right way. This is a standalone position with significant influence — ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy, is comfortable at the leadership table, and wants to build something lasting from the ground up. Key Responsibilities • Lead and develop all core HR processes, policies, and people systems • Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team on all people-related matters • Own recruitment, onboarding, and internal progression frameworks • Oversee performance reviews, appraisals, and development planning • Design and manage learning & development programmes • Champion wellbeing, culture, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) initiatives • Handle employee relations, including grievances and disciplinary procedures • Collate payroll data monthly and liaise with our external payroll provider • Ensure full compliance with UK employment law, GDPR, and internal standards • Maintain accurate, up-to-date HR documentation and personnel records What We Offer • Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE) • Hybrid working model available after probation • Enhanced holiday allowance plus bank holidays • Company pension scheme included • Clear progression opportunities as the business continues to scale • High-energy, collaborative working environment with a strong team culture • Regular team events, incentives, and seasonal celebrations • Flexible working options — office-based, hybrid, or remote where appropriate • Supportive, values-led leadership team focused on wellbeing and personal growth • A seat at the leadership table with real influence across the business What You’ll Need • CIPD Level 7 qualification — essential • Minimum 3 years’ HR experience in an SME or high-growth environment • Background in finance brokerage or lending — highly advantageous • Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice • Proven experience leading L&D and organisational development projects • A strategic thinker who’s also hands-on and delivery focused • Known for integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment • Confident working independently and influencing at senior level • Bonus: Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment Interview Process Stage One – Introductory Call - An informal conversation to explore your background, experience, and motivations. Stage Two – Face-to-Face Interview & Presentation - You’ll be asked to present a short plan on how you would lead the HR function at Millbrook — including your 90-day priorities, how you’d embed our values, and your vision for people and culture as part of the leadership team.
