Our client is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer (JVM & Java Optimisation) to take ownership of performance optimisation across a containerised, Java-based microservices architecture running at scale in the cloud. You’ll be the go-to expert for JVM tuning, Spring Boot optimisation, database performance, and container orchestration—ensuring low latency and high efficiency on critical systems. What you’ll be working on: End-to-end performance tuning for Java microservices in Kubernetes JVM Optimisation (GC, threading, memory allocation) Spring Boot profiling & tuning (reactive streams, caching, thread pools) SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory DB performance (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB) Performance testing with JMeter, k6 Observability using JFR, JVisualVM, OpenTelemetry Container Orchestration tuning (Autoscaling, CPU/mem limits, KEDA, Istio) Optimising event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) Building CI-integrated performance testing frameworks Requirements: 7 years of experience Proven expertise in JVM, Java, and Spring Boot optimisation Hands-on Kubernetes performance tuning in production environments Cloud-native experience and CI/CD performance testing integration Proficiency with profiling & monitoring tools (e.g., YourKit, JProfiler, Zipkin) Comfortable operating as an Individual Contributor What’s in it for you?
