Job Description
Chartered Bridge Engineer We're looking for a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team, supporting a range of high-profile infrastructure projects for Transport Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of Scotland's trunk road network. Role Overview Contract Length: 6 months Working Pattern: 3 days per week on-site Locations: Various project sites across Scotland, with design hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen Rate: £50-£55 per hour (umbrella) - negotiable based on experience Key Responsibilities Deliver robust and technically sound engineering solutions for bridges and related structures Lead and support junior engineers and technicians Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation Collaborate with clients and attend project meetings Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards Candidate Requirements Demonstrated experience in bridge or structural engineering Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE) - essential Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design) Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management practices Ability to work independently and lead small project teams For information about this position or any others within the Civil and Structural Engineering design market please contact Calum French.
