Freelance PLC Programmer (ZZP) – New Build Project – Power & Energy – Rotterdam Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands Duration: 12 months (freelance ZZP contract, potential extension) Project Type: Greenfield / New PLC System Build Tech Stack: Siemens TIA Portal / S7 / WinCC A leading power & energy company is starting a major greenfield automation project in Rotterdam , and we’re looking for an experienced freelance PLC Programmer (ZZP) to help design and implement a brand new Siemens-based control system from the ground up. Your Role Design and develop a new PLC system using Siemens TIA Portal Program control logic for key components in a high-performance energy facility Develop HMI interfaces and integrate with SCADA systems (e.g., WinCC) Collaborate with project engineers and electrical teams during commissioning Participate in FAT/SAT, testing, and optimization phases Ensure system documentation meets industry and compliance standards Your Profile Proven experience with Siemens TIA Portal , S7, and WinCC Strong background in new system development in industrial environments Experience in power, energy, or utilities projects preferred Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams Willing to be on-site in Rotterdam regularly throughout the project Registered ZZP freelancer with required credentials Bonus Skills Knowledge of energy system protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, Modbus, Profibus) Experience with safety systems and redundancy architecture Dutch language proficiency is a plus
