Health Safety Environment Officer

In this role, the successful candidate will be at the heart of ensuring that daily operations meet and exceed best practice, while also supporting long-term compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. This is more than just a compliance role, it’s about challenging unsafe behaviours, leading improvements, and being the go-to expert for all things HSE across the business. What You’ll Be Doing: Championing a proactive and positive HSE culture across all departments Leading site-wide compliance efforts for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Monitoring regulatory changes and driving forward best-practice initiatives Facilitating internal and external audits, customer visits and certification body assessments Producing clear and engaging HSE reports, newsletters, and bulletins Working closely with cross-functional teams to conduct risk assessments and reduce waste Investigating incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons are learned and shared Supporting induction and ongoing training, including toolbox talks and refresher sessions Maintaining KPIs and spotting trends that influence strategic HSE decisions What They’re Looking For: Proven experience in a similar HSE role within a manufacturing or engineering environment NEBOSH-qualified (essential) Hands-on knowledge of auditing and ISO 45001 / 14001 frameworks Comfortable conducting inspections, compiling reports, and working with RAMS Someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced setting with multiple priorities A confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels What’s On Offer: Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience) 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays Quarterly profit share scheme Staff pension and sick pay scheme 3x salary death in service cover Healthcare cash plan and employee wellbeing support Membership discounts and EV salary sacrifice scheme Superb on-site canteen and free parking with EV charging If you're looking to join a business that genuinely values safety, sustainability and personal accountability — while also offering fantastic long-term progression — then this could be your next career move.
