Job Description
Principal Photolithography Engineer – InP Photonics Onsite | Ipswich, UK A leading high-tech R&D center is seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in photolithography for Indium Phosphide (InP) photonics . This onsite role is instrumental in developing high-precision fabrication processes for next-generation telecom, data center, and sensing technologies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize photolithography processes for InP photonic devices. Oversee tool setup, calibration, and cleanroom operations. Convert photonic designs into high-fidelity, manufacturable patterns. Maintain process control and resolve lithography-related issues. Explore new materials, resists, and patterning techniques. Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices in microfabrication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process integration. Lead R&D projects aligned with long-term technical goals Requirements: Ph.D. in a relevant field (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering). Extensive experience in photolithography for compound semiconductors or photonics. Strong skills in mask design, resist technologies, and cleanroom tools (steppers, aligners, spin coaters). Proficient with SEM, AFM, profilometers, and related metrology. Solid understanding of photonic device design and manufacturing. Skilled in data analysis and process control.
