Senior Estimator – Civil Engineering (Energy Sector) Location: Motherwell, Scotland Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum plus additional benefits About my client: My client are a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong presence in the energy sector, delivering complex infrastructure projects across Scotland and the wider UK. With a growing portfolio of renewable energy, grid connection, and utility projects, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a talented and driven Senior Estimator based in Motherwell . The Role: As a Senior Estimator , you will play a key role in the successful delivery of bids and tenders for high-profile civil engineering projects within the energy sector. You’ll work closely with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners to develop accurate, competitive, and commercially viable estimates that contribute to their continued growth. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering works across energy-related infrastructure projects (e.g., substations, wind farms, solar, battery storage, grid connections) Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and requirements Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to develop value-engineered solutions Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required Lead bid reviews and provide input into risk assessments and commercial strategies Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases, and cost libraries Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in civil engineering, ideally with a focus on energy or infrastructure projects Strong understanding of estimating software and Microsoft Excel Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and contract types (NEC3/4 preferred) Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (preferred) What They Offer: Salary - Up to £85,000 per annum Company car or car allowance Private healthcare and pension contributions Career development opportunities in a growing sector A supportive and collaborative working environment Hybrid working options considered How to Apply: If you're an experienced estimator looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and future-focused sector, we want to hear from you.
