These open-area digs offer rare opportunities to excavate well-preserved settlement and landscape features. >>> team positions archaeologists You’re a field practitioner with commercial archaeology experience in the UK or Europe. Your “know-how” means you can hit the ground digging from the get-go. You’ve got a great work ethic, and you thrive in (real life) teams, no matter the (sometimes unpredictable) British weather. Whether you’re an early career or a seasoned pro, you’ll be collaborating closely with your teammates, bringing your knowledge of recording systems and the latest tech to the table. You’ll be essential to the team - whether you’re the nut, bolt, or the trusty WD-40, you’ll sustain a slick running site. team leaders (supervisors) You’re a skilled technician with a talent for leading and managing small field teams, often working alongside others with senior oversight. As the ‘mini manager,’ you’ll take charge of your team’s progress and outputs, using your organisational and communication skills to keep everything on track - from logistics to resource allocation – ensuring the project runs smoothly. Your HSE knowledge keeps your team safe while respecting the environment around you. Your leadership is grounded in inclusion, motivating your team and making sure everyone feels valued, supported, and part of the bigger picture. officers You’re a seasoned pro at coordinating field teams, often juggling multiple sites on large-scale infrastructure projects. You thrive in collaboration, working closely with the wider project team and stakeholders to keep everything running smoothly. With your in-depth knowledge of professional archaeological practices, site establishment, and civils, you’re well-equipped to design, plan, and manage complex projects from start to finish. A natural forward-thinker, you stay focused on outcomes, bringing organisation and clear decision-making to the table to hit time, budget, and quality targets.
