Lead Technician

Then this Lead Maintenance Technician role at Vanderlande, based at the DHL site in Zaltbommel, is the opportunity for you! What will you do? As a Lead Technician, you play a dual role: you take the lead in coordinating the daily technical operations and are also actively involved in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Vanderlande’s high-tech automated systems. You ensure that all technical issues are resolved efficiently, and that your team works in a safe, structured, and high-performing way. Your responsibilities include: Leading and coordinating daily maintenance activities in a 5-shift operation. Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Taking the lead during complex malfunctions, guiding your colleagues through the troubleshooting process. Acting as the first technical point of contact for DHL and the Vanderlande Global Service Desk during incidents and escalations. Coaching and mentoring technicians, supporting their development, and ensuring consistent performance. Making decisions on call-outs and taking ownership of escalated issues. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation in the CMMS system (DOS Maximo). Organizing effective shift handovers and sharing critical operational insights. Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize maintenance processes, system performance, and team collaboration. What do we offer? A completed MBO level 4 degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering. Proven experience in maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally in an automated or logistics environment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and support colleagues on the floor. A hands-on mentality and the drive to take ownership and make decisions under pressure. Willingness to work in a 5-shift rotation.
