We are looking for an experienced Software DevOps Engineer to join Akkodis team in Hengelo, the Netherlands. About the job As a DevOps Engineer within our organization, you combine development expertise with a deep understanding of infrastructure, automation, and cloud architectures. You contribute to building robust applications, ensure a smoothly running CI/CD pipeline, monitor performance and availability, and tackle complex incident analysis and smart monitoring setups with confidence. The day starts with a stand-up meeting where the squad reviews what was accomplished the previous day, outlines the plans for today, and identifies any current or anticipated impediments. After the stand-up, you’ll focus on deploying or enhancing tooling and providing support to engineers. You continuously strive to improve collaboration—both within your own squad and across other squads. Working in two-week sprints and following Scrum principles, you deliver new tooling—primarily based on Linux and container images—to Software Engineers, while also helping them optimize and/or automate their use. Within these activities you’ll be responsible for: Collaborate in an agile DevOps team on complex, production-grade applications—taking full ownership from development to support. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating everything you encounter. Manage container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, using tools like Helm and Terraform. Set up monitoring and alerting systems with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK. Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement structural solutions. Contribute to security, privacy, and networking within modern software architectures. Actively share your knowledge with the team and continuously develop yourself—both technically and personally. About you Do you have a passion for technology and enjoy supporting teams working on radar control and complex modern development environments? Then you might be the person we’re looking for. We are in search for a colleague who: Has a completed Bachelor or Master degree in (technical) Computer Science. You have demonstrable experience (medior) in setting up, configuring, and further developing a CI/CD environment with Jenkins and/or GitLab within a complex infrastructure. You also have experience with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes for running software in containers. You’re familiar with modern solutions, have ideas about their application, and can convince developers to implement them. Additionally, you have several years of experience with Java or C++, combined with Maven. You are proactive and creative, open and flexible, and you can operate as a team player. You are results-oriented, show initiative, and communicate clearly. A good command of both Dutch and English is essential for this role.
