Job Description
Quality Specialist – Data Centre Construction Groningen, Netherlands | 24-month contract | Start: September 2025 Project overview: We are seeking an experienced Quality Specialist to join the project team on a major new-build hyperscale data centre located near Groningen. The project is entering the main construction phase, and the role will focus on implementing and managing quality processes and inspections to ensure all works meet strict client and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all construction phases. Coordinate and carry out quality inspections on site, focusing on critical systems such as structural steel, concrete works, MEP installations, and fit-out packages. Review and validate subcontractor and vendor quality documentation (method statements, ITPs, welding procedures, material certificates). Identify and track non-conformances (NCRs), support root cause analysis, and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions. Assist in conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and client-specific requirements. Liaise closely with project management, site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues promptly. Support the preparation of turnover dossiers and quality records for commissioning and client handover. Promote a culture of quality on site through training, toolbox talks, and daily engagement. Profile: Technical degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, quality management, or related field. At least 5 years’ experience as a Quality Specialist, QA/QC Engineer, or similar on large-scale construction projects; experience with data centres, high-tech industrial, or mission-critical environments is preferred. Good understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and construction quality processes. Practical knowledge of inspections for civil, structural, and MEP installations. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Fluent in English ; Dutch language skills are an advantage. Relevant certifications (e.g., NDT Level 2, IWS/IWT, QMS lead auditor) are a plus.
