Position Summary As Lead Marine Systems Engineer, you will play a dual role: primarily focused on technical engineering (approximately 60 to 70 percent of your time), while also taking responsibility for coordination, team guidance and client interaction. You will be part of the Maritime Systems team, where you design, calculate and integrate complex shipboard systems – including propulsion, fuel, cooling, fire-fighting and auxiliary systems. Key Responsibilities Define project scope, hours and budgets in alignment with internal teams and clients Create system schematics, calculations, machinery layouts, and equipment arrangements Ensure designs meet class requirements and relevant maritime standards Lead and support a small team of engineers and draftsmen Act as the primary technical contact for shipyards, clients and classification societies Your Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or similar At least 8 years of experience in marine systems design and integration Strong understanding of piping, machinery arrangements, propulsion systems and technical spaces Hands-on experience with design and analysis tools (e.g. Solid Edge, FEM) Able to lead projects while actively contributing on the technical side Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is not required What’s Offered Competitive salary Hybrid and flexible working arrangements Projects with real technical depth and innovation potential Flat organizational structure with room for initiative and technical leadership International Candidates Candidates from EU countries are highly encouraged to apply.
