Manager, Disaster Recovery, Data Protection & Data Center Operations

Position Summary: We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused leader to oversee our enterprise-wide Disaster Recovery (DR) program, Data Protection initiatives, and Data Center Operations. This role is critical to ensuring business continuity, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience across our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical depth, program management rigor, and people leadership. They must be able to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams, foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, and align operational execution with organizational values. Key Responsibilities: Disaster Recovery Program Leadership: - Own the end-to-end DR lifecycle: planning, testing, execution, and continuous improvement. - Lead quarterly application reviews and maintain DR readiness metrics and documentation. - Coordinate readiness calls and tabletop exercises across application teams, infrastructure, and business stakeholders. - Clearly and consistently communicate DR requirements across multiple teams to ensure alignment and accountability. - Drive execution of DR tests, including pre-readiness validation, post-mortem analysis, and RCA documentation. Data Protection Oversight: - Manage enterprise backup and restore operations, including test validation and vendor coordination (e.g., Rubrik, Nutanix). - Ensure visibility into backup health and proactively address gaps in coverage or confidence. - Collaborate with InfoSec and Compliance teams to align data protection practices with SOC 2, SOX, and internal audit requirements. Data Center Operations - Oversee operations of enterprise data centers, including MDFs located at multiple distribution centers and support centers. - Manage vendor relationships, maintenance contracts, and lifecycle planning for physical infrastructure. - Partner with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for DR scenarios and production stability. - Lead operational risk assessments and ensure alignment with business continuity objectives. Qualifications: - 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, or data center operations. - Proven experience managing DR programs in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, on-prem). - Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik), DRaaS, and infrastructure monitoring tools. - Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, SOX, NIST CSF). - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical requirements clearly and effectively across diverse teams. - Excellent people and management skills, including team development, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement. Success Metrics : - DR test success rate and reduction in reschedules/failures. - Timely delivery of weekly and quarterly reports with actionable insights. - Improved confidence in backup/restore operations and reduced recovery time objectives (RTO). - Operational readiness of all critical applications and infrastructure components. - Team engagement and alignment with company culture and values.
