Job Description

DRE Engineer – Wireless Charging & In-Car Systems Location: Mexico. Experience: 5 years in automotive design & release engineering Travel: Required for product launches in Toluca/Saltillo Role Overview We are seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) todesign, develop, and release of front pedestrian alert speakers, wireless charging control modules (including fan‑cooled systems), and USB/USB Hub components for vehicles. This critical role spans concept through launch—overseeing supplier integration, managing BOM accuracy, resolving warranty issues, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure successful vehicle introductions. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end design, positioning, and release of Front Pedestrian Alert Speakers, ensuring compliance with pedestrian safety standards (e.g., FMVSS, Quiet Car). Architect and manage wireless charger systems (including fan-cooled variants), over-the-air control modules, and USB Hubs (BEV frunk and cabin). Resolve commercial and technical issues with wireless charger suppliers; lead PDT meetings to resolve development issues. Oversee BOM system updates: assigning/removing part numbers across vehicle programs. Drive warranty investigation and resolution for wireless chargers and USB Hubs. Execute engineering change orders for component repositioning and design updates. Collaborate with NVH, exterior, interiors, FEA, and manufacturing stakeholders to address cross-functional challenges. Author part validation documentation (IAA, FR, CN, CR) and manage change control processes (CCD, CN, ICD). Mentor junior engineers, provide program status updates, risk mitigation plans, and align with launch readiness. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or similar). 5 years in automotive DRE or equivalent across hardware/software integration roles Proven track record designing and releasing vehicle components (speakers, chargers, USB interfaces). Expertise with CAD tools (CATIA, NX); ability to generate 2D drawings with GD&T. In-depth knowledge of wireless power systems (SAE J2954) , DFMEA/DVP&R practices, BOM management, and change control. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills. Experience leading supplier development efforts and cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel to Toluca and Saltillo for launch support and supplier coordination. Ideal Candidate Profile Authority in in-vehicle wireless charging and power system integration. Comfortable leading commercial negotiations and technical meetings. Exceptional organizational skills and program management experience. Influential communicator: able to report status, escalate risks, and negotiate resolutions effectively. Full-time senior-level position with hybrid flexibility (Toluca/Saltillo remote).
