Leeds Birstall Vets4Pets 24/7 Hospital Full Time Veterinary Surgeon Salary dependent upon experience 1 in 4 weekends (no sole charge, 10hrs Sat, 10hrs Sun mainly ECC, 30min sick pet consults, inpatient care) 4 day week days (Mon- Fri) Surgical, Medicine, Dentistry Certificate holder in-house support £1,500 Annual CPD allowance, Certificate sponsorship encouraged Part of a proactive in-house CPD/Clinical development veterinary team. 70 colleagues (15 vets). What we are looking for - Primarily looking for consult only vet Happy to offer to vet experienced in ophthalmology (combine with ophthalmology clinics and procedure day). Looking to develop these services to our clients as we have a large referral potential from our 19 practices that feed into the hospital OOH and existing referral services Of experienced vets happy to combine consulting with inpatient/hospital shifts. e.g. those with imaging experience and/or a passion for inpatient hospitalisation care We currently have all surgical positions filled at Birstall so this position would not be suitable for vets looking for a high surgical caseload. Due to Birstall's high standards of primary/general practice (within clinic) and in the hospital (high OOH and referral patient load) this is NOT a position open to new vets with little experience, vets needing training in-house, or have no experience of working in UK practices. We are primarily looking for experienced vets with strong CV's illustrating significant UK experience in practice. As an advanced practice we frequently carry out - Oesophageal tube placements Seldinger Chest Drain placements Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains Pig tail urinary catheters TFAST AFAST Endoscoscopy Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Urinary Catheterisation We regulary deal with the following caseloads - caesareans, pyometra, exploratory laparotomy with enterotomy and enterectomy. On the medicine side we see many Addisonian, Ketoacidotic diabetic cases and sever pancreatitis cases. Our Hospital is well equipped with: Procyte haematology Catalyst Dx EPOC Coags (APTT/PT) Angio/Felv/FIV/Gardia/Parvo/Lepto Transfusion Medicine Lipids Digital Xray, advanced ultrasound with doppler CT Flexible video gastroscope, bronchoscope Video Otoscope and Rigid scope Laparoscopy Dental Xray with CR7 Developer Multiparameter monitors inc ECG/Cap/Temp/Sp02/BP Doppler BP ECG Gen11 vessel sealing Valleylab monopolar/bipolar, Ligaclips E20 sterilisation For further details please contact NorthVet@Vets4pets.com or julie.leonard@vetsforpets.com.
