Roles and Responsibilities Introduction A leading South African company specializing in modular wastewater treatment systems for domestic, commercial, industrial, and remote applications is seeking a skilled Procurement Buyer/Manager/Supervisor to join its growing team. With a strong focus on sustainability and operational excellence, this role will take ownership of the procurement functionmanaging sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of materials and services. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, excellent supplier management skills, and a proven ability to drive cost and time efficiencies while maintaining quality and compliance. Duties & Responsibilities Duties will include but not limited to:  Source and procure equipment, parts, and materials related to water treatment systems (e.g., pumps, valves, filters, tanks, instrumentation). Obtain and compare supplier quotations, negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms. Develop and maintain preferred supplier relationships and approved vendor lists. Ensure accurate and timely placement of purchase orders and follow up on deliveries. Monitor inventory levels and support stock forecasting in coordination with project and production teams. Work closely with engineering, project management, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets. Assist with import/export processes and customs documentation where applicable. Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation for audits and reporting. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and strategic sourcing. Support sustainability initiatives by sourcing eco-friendly and compliant materials Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements National Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field 37 years' experience in a procurement/buying role, ideally in engineering, manufacturing, or water/environmental sectors Strong technical understanding of components used in water treatment (e.g., pumps, valves, instrumentation) Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier contracts Proficient in ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, SYSPRO, Pastel, or similar) Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills Valid drivers license and own transport (willingness to travel to suppliers or project sites) Knowledge of BBBEE compliance and local supplier development is advantageous Package & Remuneration & Nature of Role Office base work or project site as required Area: Witbank Area Industry: Water Treatment/ Environmental Engineering Working hours: Monday Friday: 07:30 16:30 OR 08:00 17:00 OR 07:00 16:00 Market Salary Banding: Procurement Buyer / Junior-Level (13 years experience) Low end: R18,000 R25,000 CTC/month High end: R28,000 R35,000 CTC/month Procurement Supervisor / Mid-Level (36 years experience) Low end: R30,000 R38,000 CTC/month High end: R42,000 R55,000 CTC/month Procurement Manager / Senior-Level (6 years experience, leadership, technical knowledge) Low end: R50,000 R65,000 CTC/month High end: R70,000 R85,000 CTC/month Interested?
