Role overview For our offices in Milan, Brescia or Costa Volpino, we are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator, Database manager expert to manage database configuration, availability, and correct operations in a multi-paradigm database environment. The role involves monitoring, ensuring availability and disaster recovery, and contributing to the evolution of our data stores. This position requires adherence to best practices in Database management within a Cloud application, focusing on data scalability, performance, and availability. Responsibilities include: Support and consult development teams in designing, setting up, and operating databases following best practices for managing data in cloud applications. Patching databases, managing permissions, configuring for high availability, troubleshooting, and setting up metrics and sensors for monitoring. Overseeing and influencing cloud service providers in infrastructure management and maintenance. Managing cloud infrastructure data migration, database analysis, optimization testing, support, and management of cloud infrastructure. Assisting in re-architecting database structures to address data security concerns. Helping developers design and tune databases and queries (Liquibase, Hibernate, SQL); providing analysis and design recommendations. Your Profile University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or comparable experience. At least 4 years of professional experience in database administration, including a minimum of 2 years in cloud-based distributed applications. Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of Kubernetes. Proven knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, H2) and NoSQL databases. Experience in setup, administration, and performance tuning of databases for cloud applications. Knowledge of data versioning systems (Liquibase, Flyway) and scripted database deployment in containerized environments. Familiarity with agile working environments. Good communication skills and proficiency in Italian and English. Nice-to-Have Skills: Basic understanding of SQL Server. Experience with Prometheus & Grafana for monitoring. Knowledge of Elastic Stack (ELK) for logging. Familiarity with APM tools. Basic understanding of CI/CD processes for database deployments. Knowledge of modern DevOps principles.
