Document Controller

Job Title: Document Controller – Tier 1 Construction Contractor Location: Middlesbrough Start Date: Late July – 1st August Contract Type: 2-Year Fixed Term (with potential for permanent role) Company Overview: We are a leading Tier 1 construction company with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. We are currently seeking a Document Controller to join our team on a major new-build school project in Middlesbrough. This is a multi-million-pound scheme offering a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile educational development. Role Overview: As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records and documentation for the project team. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient document control practices are followed, supporting compliance, project delivery, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: * Set up and manage document control systems for the project * Ensure timely distribution and accurate tracking of drawings, technical submittals, reports, and health & safety documents * Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain document integrity * Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly around data security and document version control * Support the wider project team in administrative and compliance-related tasks Essential Skills & Experience: * Proven experience working as a Document Controller on large construction projects * Previous experience on BIO (Build in Order) sites and working with health & safety documentation packages * Competency using document management systems, particularly U Points and Smart Waste * Strong understanding of document version control and audit trail processes * Excellent organizational and communication skills Desirable: * Experience on school or public sector new build projects * Knowledge of ISO standards and Tier 1 construction protocols What We Offer: * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work with one of the UK’s top construction contractors * Dynamic site-based role with a strong team and long-term project outlook * Possibility of permanent employment following contract completion To apply please attach your most up to date CV - and call Jack on (phone number removed)
