Role: Network Engineer Location & Travel: Work from home. Role Details: Overview Seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer for a high-priority Network Migration Project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking and security, with expertise in migration, configuration, and troubleshooting across Cisco LAN/WAN environments, F5 load balancing, and Checkpoint firewalls. The Network Engineer will work closely with customer and third-party consulting team to design, implement, and optimize network infrastructure while ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of the systems during the migration process. As part of the migration project, candidate will be responsible for providing expert-level knowledge on network architecture, security solutions, and managing the transition of key network components with minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. Roles & Responsibilities: Lead and assist in the migration of network infrastructure, ensuring seamless transition between systems (including Cisco LAN/WAN, F5 load balancing, and Checkpoint security configurations). Design, configure, and optimize Cisco network equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls for both LAN and WAN environments. Implement and maintain F5 load balancing solutions to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of applications. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Checkpoint firewalls to ensure network security and implement policies across migration stages. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and create detailed network migration plans. Perform network assessments and audits to identify any security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, or other potential issues before, during, and after the migration. Monitor network performance post-migration to ensure system functionality and security compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and security issues related to routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers. Provide technical guidance and support for junior network engineers and other team members throughout the migration process. Document all network configurations, migration steps, and security policies for future reference and compliance audits. Ensure network migrations meet industry best practices, performance standards, and security policies. Requirements Qualifications: Key Skills & Experience Cisco LAN & WAN: In-depth knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., ASA, Catalyst, Nexus) for LAN and WAN configurations. F5 Load Balancing: Hands-on experience in deploying and managing F5 BIG-IP solutions for load balancing, application delivery, and traffic management. Checkpoint Firewalls: Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Checkpoint firewalls (NGFW) and security policies. Network Migration: Proven experience with large-scale network migrations and data center transitions involving both hardware and software components. Networking Protocols & Technologies: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS. Security Best Practices: Familiarity with network security protocols (IPSec, SSL, etc.), firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and best practices for securing network infrastructure. Troubleshooting: Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across network equipment and security appliances. Stakeholder and work Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively with clients, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Documentation & Reporting: Strong skills in documenting network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and project progress for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Certifications (Preferred) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE) CompTIA Security or similar security certification ITIL Foundation or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) certifications.
