Information Security Specialist

Position: Information Security SpecialistLocation: Toronto, ON (On-Site - 5 Days a Week)Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentAbout the Role:Our client, a well-established organization, is looking for an experienced IT professional to support and enhance their overall security efforts. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities aimed at strengthening the organization's security posture through proactive risk management and support of security-related systems and practices.The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation and a background that includes both infrastructure and security experience, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities:- Support and coordinate various aspects of the organization's security program, including identifying and addressing potential risks.- Monitor and assess alerts across multiple tools and platforms, ensuring timely follow-up with internal teams and external partners.- Contribute to incident response efforts, including issue investigation and resolution planning.- Collaborate with external service providers to support security operations and monitoring.- Assist in the evaluation of new technologies and solutions from a security perspective.- Support compliance efforts by aligning with internal standards and recognized best practices.- Participate in continuity and recovery planning activities.- Help maintain and improve key security controls, including system protection and update practices.- Contribute to regular reporting and help inform security-related planning and decision-making.- Maintain documentation and support ongoing process improvements.About You:- Background in IT or a related field, supported by relevant education or equivalent experience.- Several years of experience in a technical role involving security and infrastructure.- Familiarity with widely used platforms and technologies, including Microsoft, virtualization tools, and network systems.- Comfortable working in hybrid environments with both cloud and on-premises systems.- Knowledge of security tools and best practises across various areas such as endpoint protection and email filtering.- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.- Experience supporting compliance initiatives or working within regulated sectors is a plus.- Security-related certifications are an asset but not required.- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.Interested candidates should send their resume to Bronwyn Massey at bronwyn.massey@quantum-qtr.comREFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN $1,000!
