Field Services Manager

Position: Field Services ManagerLocation: Ottawa, ON (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)Travel: Local (Ottawa) and occasional international (Europe for training)Our client, a global leader in transit technology, is looking for a Field Services Manager with background in IT/networking, to lead technical operations for their largest Canadian contract, overseeing a field team and serving as the primary client liaison.What You'll Do:- Lead and support a team of 8 field technicians, with direct oversight of an Assistant Manager and Warehouse Manager- Manage field operations for hardware-based fare collection systems (e.g., card readers, motors, and electro-mechanical components)- Serve as the main point of contact for a key transit client, coordinating service delivery, support, and issue resolution- Oversee installations, preventative maintenance, and field troubleshooting — with a hands-on understanding of networking and system setup- Provide leadership and cohesion to a mixed team of seasoned and newer technicians- Support occasional weekend incidents (approx. once a month)- Travel to Germany as needed for product and technical trainingWhat You Bring:- 5-7 years of field service or operations experience.- 5 years in a management role leading service teams. - Strong technical foundation in IT networking, installations, and hardware/software troubleshooting- Experience managing electro-mechanical systems in the field is a strong asset- Bonus: Experience in fare collection, transit, or ticketing systems- Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills — you're as comfortable in the field as you are in a boardroom- Valid G license requiredWork Structure:- Hybrid: 4 days onsite in Ottawa, 1 day remote- Occasional off-hours support as neededInterested?
