About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Engineering to join a specialist secondary setting in Leeds on a full-time maternity cover basis, starting September 2025. Essential Requirements QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification. Eligibility to work in the UK. Experience teaching KS4 and/or KS5 Engineering (GCSE, BTEC, or equivalent) An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). Key Skills Technical expertise in Engineering principles Practical workshop instruction and safety Lesson planning and curriculum design Data tracking and pupil progress analysis Industry-relevant knowledge and application Student engagement and motivation strategies Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Engineering lessons to KS4 and KS5 students Teach across a range of Engineering topics (mechanical, electrical, systems) Maintain and manage a safe and efficient workshop environment Support student progression towards apprenticeships or further study Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with course specifications Contribute to the development and review of the Engineering curriculum Provide targeted intervention and support where necessary Differentiate lessons to cater to a variety of learning needs Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements Prepare students for external examinations and assessments What We Offer: A supportive, collaborative working environment.
