Site Engineer

Are you a Site Engineer looking for your next step in construction? Day Rate: £300 - £400 a day £50 Lodge Allowance VGC are currently supporting out Client in Plymouth who are working on a Major project doing redevelopment of a Royal Navy Site. Due to the site being on a Royal Navy base only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role. Site Engineer Key Responsibilities: Assist with setting out, dimensional control, and ensuring construction is within specified tolerances. Support preparation of as-built drawings, daily site records, and maintain drawing registers. Monitor and record quality of workmanship and materials, including testing (e.g., concrete, drainage, brickwork). Provide technical support to resolve site issues and ensure clear communication of design information. Promote and assist with implementing site safety, health, and environmental procedures. Site Engineer Key Traits: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (e.g., BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, EngTech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSE EngTech, or Higher Apprenticeship) Working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE, or another relevant professional body Proficient in using Leica survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, optical and digital levels) for setting out and surveying Experience in a similar role, with awareness of commercial processes Familiar with Quality Management Systems and experienced in writing RAMS Proven people management and project coordination skills Strong team leadership and organisational abilities Site Engineer Desirable Traits: TWS (Temporary Works Supervisor) or TWC (Temporary Works Coordinator) certified First Aid at Work qualification SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certified Experience developing ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) Background in groundworks, earthworks, and reinforced concrete Experience in nuclear sector projects If you are interested in the role of Site Engineer please get in touch and we will be in contact shortly
