Fluor & Energy Materials , an Orbia business, is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to be based at Mina Las Cuevas, San Luis Potosí, México ! Job Summary/ Purpose Plan, coordinate, and execute capital and improvement projects at the mining site from conceptual engineering through final handover, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, cost, and timeline objectives. Responsibilities include the development and review of technical packages, resource management, contractor supervision, progress validation, and project documentation closure. The Project Engineer acts as a key liaison between technical, operational, and administrative teams, ensuring that each project aligns with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and contributes to continuous improvement and the long-term sustainability of operations. Additionally, the role supports the implementation of best project management practices and fosters a culture of safety, collaboration, and operational excellence Main Responsibilities Generate material and equipment requisitions in coordination with the supply chain department. Preparation of basic and detailed engineering packages for investment and maintenance projects. Develop and manage cost breakdown structures and integrated schedules, applying project controls methodologies to ensure on-time and on-budget execution. Coordinate the integration of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) through integrated planning processes, mitigating interface risks and maximizing resource efficiency. Validate technical deliverables throughout the project life cycle, ensuring the quality of engineering packages, technical manuals, as-built drawings and final closeout documentation. Manage the planning and execution of project testing. Supervise the financial control of projects, including CAPEX projection and tracking, variance control and budget variance analysis. Coordinate technical contracting and procurement strategies, evaluating cost-benefit alternatives and ensuring adherence to critical project schedules. Supervise project cash flow and ensure the correct accounting allocation of assets, in accordance with corporate regulations and internal audits. Coordinate start-up tests and commissioning with operations and maintenance departments Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related fields) Advanced English Knowledge/ Experience Required 3 to 5 years of experience in mining. 8 to 10 years of provable experience in project execution. 5 to 10 years of experience in contractor management. Knowledge in project management with PMI’s standards and FEL methodology.
