Role : General Manager Location : Leicester, plus frequent travel to other depot locations Job Type : Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday) Sector : Plant Sales Package : Region of £75,000 pa (depending on experience), company car & KPI related bonus. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a dynamic and driven General Manager to play a pivotal role in our journey. Job Description As General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business across multiple depots, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the executive team, contributing to strategic decisions and supporting the business in its ambitious growth plans including identifying and launching new branches. Key Responsibilities · Provide strong, proactive leadership across all operational teams to ensure effective, safe, and efficient business operations. · Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance and culture across all sites, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. · Work closely with the Managing Director on strategic planning and execution. · Assist in identifying, assessing, and establishing new branch locations, including resourcing, logistics, and operational set-up. · Ensure consistent operational performance, continuous improvement, and implementation of best practices. · Oversee and support department managers, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance. · Collaborate with other executive leaders on cross-functional initiatives (HR, Finance, Commercial & Events) to ensure alignment and success. · Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, reporting regularly to the Managing Director. · Represent the company professionally with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers. Key Skills & Requirements · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role, ideally in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial multi-site environment. · Proven leadership capability with the ability to inspire and drive high performance. · Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and a passion for promoting a safety-first culture. · Excellent operational and organisational skills, with a focus on results and efficiency. · Experience in business development or site expansion is highly desirable. · Commercially aware, with the ability to contribute to strategic planning and execution. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Willingness to travel across multiple sites as needed.
