What you'll be doing What You’ll Be Doing As a Site Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality rail infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the planning and execution of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works under the guidance of the Senior Project Engineer. Ensuring technical compliance across both site and office-based activities. Participating in key meetings, including Whiteboard and Stage Gate sessions. Managing work to meet financial targets, performance indicators, and key results. Ensuring all work complies with safety legislation, welfare regulations, and technical standards. Conducting site surveys, planning and programming work, and preparing technical documentation. Producing and submitting site documentation such as bar charts, WPPs, task briefs, and time chainage charts. Performing safety inspections and submitting daily work returns. Who we're looking for What We’re Looking For Essential Experience Background in Track Renewals or Enhancements, or a similar environment. Strong technical knowledge in surveying, setting out, dozing, tamping, and quality control. Understanding of Network Rail standards. Awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015. Key Skills Proficient in IT and technical documentation. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Calm under pressure and a natural problem-solver. Full UK driving licence. Experience with Trimble SPS930 and GPS Survey Equipment. Desirable Qualifications Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience. PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification. Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field. Membership in a professional institution (e.g., PWI or ICE). Familiarity with BIM Field 360.
