Medior R&D CAD Engineer

Who are we looking for ? Omnitek designs and manufactures high-tech laboratory instrumentation which finds its way into laboratories worldwide. R&D is at the heart of what we do. To further strengthen our R&D team we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative R&D CAD Engineer . You work in close collaboration with the rest of a multidisciplinary R&D team that challenges each other to develop the best solutions to complex problems. The main focus of your responsibilities lies with mechanical design, but depending on your capabilities may include other disciplines as well. The main tasks include : Designing, improving and implementing (electro-) mechanical assemblies, casings and parts with attention to Design for Manufacture and Assembly Building and testing prototypes and assemblies Creating 3D models in CAD (Solid Edge) and drafting manufacturing drawings Optimize existing designs for performance, cost and/or assembly Researching new methodologies, technologies and their application Provide reports and documentation during the R&D stage and final product release Source and acquire required components and parts What do we expect from you ? A completed HBO/WO (Msc.) education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar Experience with various CAD software, experience in Solid Edge counts as a strong nice-to-have 3-5 years experience in a similar role Proficient (near native) in written and spoken English and optionally Dutch Good interpersonal skills A curious, investigative mindset Currently living in The Netherlands at maximum 50 km. from Waddinxveen What can you expect from us ?
