Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

About the Role Branta Recruitment is currently recruiting for a skilled and qualified Mobile Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading facilities management team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a range of commercial sites throughout the North East, delivering high-quality maintenance, servicing, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a variety of commercial systems. Service and maintain HVAC systems including: Split systems VRV/VRF systems Chillers Clean coils, replace filters, and perform system checks to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently. Carry out inspections and make recommendations for system improvements. Support complex installations or upgrades in collaboration with engineers and subcontractors. Ensure full compliance with F-Gas regulations and site-specific health and safety standards. Key Requirements F-Gas Category 1 certification (essential). Proven experience in a mobile HVAC or air conditioning engineer role. Competence in servicing industrial cooling units. Strong technical knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Confident working independently and managing your own workload. Strong communication and customer service skills. Full UK driving licence (essential).
