Job Title: Design/Technical Manager – Remedial Works Location: Acton Type: Freelance Day Rate: £350 Start Date: ASAP Our client are a residential property developer focused on delivering high-quality urban living spaces. With a commitment to excellence in design, construction, and delivery, and are now seeking an experienced Design/Technical Manager to lead and coordinate remedial works on an existing reinforced concrete (RC) frame residential building. The Role: This is a critical appointment requiring a technically proficient and design-savvy professional to oversee structural alterations and remedial works on a partially completed or existing residential development. You will play a key role in ensuring the structural integrity of the building is maintained while implementing necessary changes aligned with revised design, regulatory, and performance requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and coordinate design solutions related to structural remediation and modifications * Liaise with structural engineers, architects, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure cohesive delivery * Review and oversee structural assessments and temporary works designs * Identify technical risks and provide practical solutions to mitigate them * Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and quality requirements * Report regularly to senior management and provide progress updates and technical advice * Manage documentation, drawing reviews, RFIs, and design changes efficiently * Interface with local authorities, warranty providers, and third-party consultants as required Requirements: * Proven experience managing technical design on RC frame residential projects * Strong knowledge of structural remedial work, especially in urban/mid-rise developments * Understanding of UK Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and CDM regulations * Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive coordination across disciplines * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Desirable: * Previous experience working for a residential developer or main contractor * Familiarity with modern construction methods and structural repair techniques * Ability to manage external consultants and technical subcontractors For more information, please apply within or contact Aaron Billett at CSC Recruitment
