Home » Jobs » Cyber Security Analyst, Italy The IT / Cyber Security Analyst is a key role within the ION Markets Division, supporting the division’s security strategy by identifying, mitigating, and remediating information security risks. This position reports to the divisional CISO. As part of the Markets’ IT Security Team, the successful candidate will handle escalations from the Group-wide CSIRT Team, improve security posture, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with security standards. Responsibilities also include contributing to security control configurations and policies, meeting KPI targets, and other duties assigned by the CISO. We seek a dedicated, motivated individual with excellent communication skills capable of building relationships across teams. The role is suited for a technically proficient candidate aiming for career growth within a specialized security team, ideally with experience in security and systems administration related to workstations, servers, and networks. Your role Key Responsibilities The primary responsibilities include: Protect and defend: identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to IT systems and networks. Utilize defensive measures and information sources to detect, analyze, and report security events. Respond to security alerts to contain and mitigate threats, applying appropriate response strategies. Assess threats and vulnerabilities, determine risks, and recommend mitigation measures. Configure, tune, maintain, and operate security controls and technologies. Perform operational tasks to meet KPIs and SLAs, and deliver security projects on time. Stay updated on security threats, news, and vulnerabilities through research and analysis. Conduct threat hunting, review, triage, and escalate security alerts from various security tools. Assist or lead incident response efforts, including containment and recovery. Identify and prioritize vulnerabilities for remediation. Manage and troubleshoot security technologies, including scripting and automation. Document processes and maintain system and security documentation. Review systems for compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices, providing security recommendations. Respond to security-related inquiries and requests. Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Degree or certifications in a technology-related field or relevant experience; certifications like CISSP, CISA, etc., are a plus. At least 3 years in IT Security or IT roles. Fundamental scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash). Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems. Personal Characteristics Team player with the ability to work independently. Capable of owning tasks and completing them efficiently. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. High attention to detail and quality. Effective problem-solving skills. Knowledge Areas Endpoint security controls and best practices for servers. Networking concepts, protocols, and security controls. Cryptography and data security fundamentals. Forensic techniques. Experience with security technologies such as EDR, SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, firewalls, IAM/PAM, vulnerability management, etc., is preferred.
