Job Description
The IT manager in our company plays a key role in overseeing and managing all aspects of an organization's information technology infrastructure. This key position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of the company's IT systems, supporting its business operations, and helping drive technological advances in the medical device industry. The IT manager reports directly to the chief operating officer (COO) and collaborates with various departments to align technology initiatives with the company's strategic goals. Responsibilities IT infrastructure management : The IT manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, network devices, storage systems, and ensuring the overall reliability and scalability of the IT environment. System security : Given the sensitive nature of medical equipment and patient data, the IT manager takes a proactive approach to cyber security. They implement strong security protocols, firewalls, and encryption methods to protect company data and prevent unauthorized access or hacking. IT Support and Help Desk : The IT manager leads a team of IT support specialists responsible for providing technical assistance to employees. They provide timely problem resolution, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and manage the ticketing system. IT policies and procedures. Designing and implementing IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards is a critical responsibility. The IT manager ensures that employees are aware of these policies and follow data protection and information security best practices. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery : The IT manager develops and maintains comprehensive disaster recovery plans and ensures the continuity of critical IT services in the event of emergencies or unforeseen events. Qualifications and skills Bachelor's degree in information technology or related fields. Experience in IT management, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry. Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices. Knowledge of medical device software and regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA regulations) preferred.
