Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting a highly experienced Project Director to lead the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities for a 2.3 GW portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System projects across Italy. Key Responsibilities Define and lead the overall EPC strategy for the BESS portfolio (15 projects, avg. size >100 MW each). Manage the transition from development to execution, supporting FID preparation and batch rollouts. Build and manage a high-performing EPC team (internal and/or external partners). Oversee the selection, negotiation, and performance of EPC contractors, consultants, and key suppliers. Ensure all projects meet regulatory, HSE, quality, budget, and schedule requirements. Coordinate closely with internal departments (Development, Finance, Legal, Asset Management). Provide technical oversight and risk assessments throughout the lifecycle of the projects. Manage relationships with DNOs/TSOs and other relevant stakeholders. Monitor progress, report KPIs, and implement corrective actions when needed. Requirements Proven track record (10 years) managing large-scale EPC projects in energy infrastructure; prior BESS experience highly preferred. Strong understanding of the Italian permitting and grid connection landscape. Demonstrated experience managing portfolios at GW scale and multi-site delivery programs. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Fluent in English; Italian is a strong advantage.
