Litigation Solicitor – Manchester I'm currently partnered with a forward-thinking law firm that’s leading the way in data-driven recoveries and technical litigation. It is expanding its specialist recoveries team and is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Assistant Solicitor to join its complex litigation arm. The Opportunity: This is a rare chance to step into a non-traditional litigation role with a modern, analytics-led firm that punches above its weight in the recoveries space. With offices in both Manchester and Northampton, the firm operates a genuinely hybrid model and place real trust in its team. The work is varied, high-quality and unusually broad for a firm in this niche. The role sits within its “technical litigation” division – a team focused on more complex or defended cases that require intellectual rigour and tactical awareness. Unlike volume recoveries work, this team handles genuinely interesting matters that regularly test your legal reasoning and client care skills. The Work: You’ll manage a diverse caseload that could include: Defended mortgage possession proceedings Title disputes and issues around goods ownership Guarantor claims and satisfactory quality disputes Defended money claims, breach of contract and misrepresentation Bankruptcy, conversion, third party applications and more This team is the go-to for the business when litigation gets tricky. You’ll also liaise directly with clients (including financial institutions and specialist lenders), support product development and have the chance to shape how legal services are delivered in this space. Who This Suits: NQ to 4 years’ PQE , or qualified via CILEX Exposure to debt recovery , asset-based lending , or commercial litigation is ideal – but attitude and adaptability are just as important Someone who’s confident managing clients directly and thrives when given autonomy A litigator who enjoys the tactical side of litigation and the commercial realities behind each matter You don’t need to come from a big-name firm – what matters most is your comfort with complexity, your client-handling ability and your enthusiasm for the sector.
