Position : CAS082894 Expected Start Date: July 14, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre City/Town: Shaunavon Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED) Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Valid Class 4 driver's license Competencies Intermediate - Conflict resolution skills Advanced - Listening skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
