Job Description
Job Summary The Supplier Quality Engineer function ensures that all suppliers and materials they provide are in compliance with manufacturing and engineering specifications and government standards. Works to establish corrective actions together with suppliers. Supports the process of changes related to raw materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Generate and track corrective actions from suppliers • Notify the supplier of the corrective actions generated by your SCAR's product. • Confirm receipt by the supplier of corrective action • Negotiate with the supplier the accreditation of the returned material • Request corrective actions and evidence from the supplier to close the SCAR generated. • Verification of corrective actions implemented by the supplier • Support the evaluation of new suppliers • Provide support to production areas in the evaluation of raw materials • Create and manage the parts approval process with external raw material suppliers (AQA). • Provide support to sustainability projects. • Support the supplier requested change (SCR) process. • Participate in material disposal meetings • Address quality problems that arise during the production process • Attend Quality audits • Follow-up on non-conformities detected in audits • General supervision of your area, cleanliness, discipline, 5's Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge of ISO 13485 Quality Systems • Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, 8D’S, QSR, SPC • Quality standards and procedures of the Medical Industry • Continuous improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) • Basic Leadership Principles • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities • Ability to supervise and train personnel • Ability to assign tasks and responsibilities • Basic knowledge of administration • Ability to follow procedures • Ability to interact, develop and motivate staff • Ability to follow orders and follow them • Management of basic computer programs (MS Office) • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal and group relationships. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience • University Engineering degree • 3-5 years experience similar role • Fully bilingual English/Spanish • Medical device manufacturing industry experience
