About the role : The Assistant Director of Security will lead our Security team and ensure the safety and security of all employees, guests, residents, and property assets. This person must demonstrate high standards, uncompromising ethics and genuine care and concern for the consistent well-being of all. What you will do : Be a part of a pre-opening team! Manage and supervise the day-to-day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property. Train, schedule, discipline and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures. Assist Director of Security with reviewing and conducting performance evaluations for Security staff. Design and implement preventive programs, policies, and procedures regarding security and safety. Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements. Write comprehensive reports to prevent situations that could jeopardize the hotel's reputation. Assist hotel staff in handling unusual guest or employee problems, such as disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbances, power or elevator failures, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. Take an active role in developing and implementing the hotel's fire plan. Conduct biannual Fire Drills and training related to emergency procedures. Assist in developing a yearly budget for the department. Control the key, lock, alarm, and fire protection systems. Chair the Health and Safety Committees and organize hazard communication and bloodborne pathogen training classes. Coordinate VIP guest movements and liaise with group security contacts. Manage security requests and bookings. Remain calm during challenging situations and stay informed of laws and regulations related to guest, patron, and employee rights. What you bring : High school education or equivalent experience. Minimum two years security management experience, preferably in hotels or resorts. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
