Supplier Development Engineer

Position Summary We're looking for a Supplier Development Engineer in Reggio Emilia. The SDE will support purchasing in the supplier selection process by approving new suppliers, monitoring suppliers' APQP, and performing process audits (PSR). They will monitor supplier KPIs and propose/manage supplier improvement plans, supporting in case of escalations by going onsite when required. Main Opportunities and Challenges Opportunities: to be part of a dynamic and multicultural team Challenges: support purchasing and operations in driving strategies and resolving supplier-related issues Frequent travels in Italy and abroad up to 70% Main Responsibilities Conduct supplier system assessment audits according to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other requirements. Report major issues to the Regional Supplier Development Manager/Director. Drive continuous improvements within the supplier base. Monitor parts undergoing APQP and coordinate with relevant teams. Escalate unresolved supplier issues appropriately. Support Dana plants globally during escalations. Ensure parts are ready for PPAP approval during APQP. Collaborate with suppliers to improve products and processes using continuous improvement and lean principles. Ensure quality assurance of sourced products through APQP activities. Represent quality in Regional/Global Commodity Strategy meetings. Support capacity assessments to mitigate production risks. Lead commodity meetings for the responsible area. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Position Requirements Education: University bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering. Professional background: Preferred Supplier Quality/Development engineer with at least 5 years of experience. Hard skills: Mechanical background and/or Electric and Electronics; Fluent English.
