Job Description
For our dynamic and growing Brands division within an established international pharmaceutical company, we are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs field professional. This role requires someone who dares to look beyond the typical big pharma Medical Science Liaison (MSL) job and wishes to operate autonomously in an entrepreneurial manner. The position offers the opportunity to develop broadly by engaging in all aspects of the business and managing your own daily activities. You will join a team of two Medical Managers in Italy and will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and execution of medical projects. Additionally, you will provide Medical Affairs support to Sales and Marketing colleagues, with a demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities. The candidate must reside in Italy and be fluent in English to communicate effectively with the European Management team, which is based in various locations across Europe, including Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe. Major tasks & responsibilities Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies and scientific projects, including publications and advisory boards. Identify and cultivate peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs and other influencers in the scientific and healthcare community, utilizing evidence-based information. Support the development and launch of products through scientific exchange in melanoma. Assist with Early Access Program requests from HCPs in Italy for melanoma patients. Provide business support to Italian marketing, commercial, and market access teams. Lead the approval process for investigator-initiated trials and monitor their progress. Disseminate clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant, and ethical manner. Establish and support networks in Derma-oncology and other potential therapeutic areas. Communicate emerging data to experts and respond to unsolicited healthcare professional inquiries. Support colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content for speakers. Education & Qualifications Mandatory: (bio)medical or scientific academic degree. Driver’s license. At least 3 years of experience as an MSL or Medical Manager in the innovative pharmaceutical industry. Minimum one year of experience in a commercial function within the pharmaceutical industry. Fluent in Italian (native) and English. Desirable: dermatology or oncology experience; experience with Early Access Programs in Italy. Technical skills & competencies Strong scientific knowledge and strategic thinking. Knowledge of dermatology or oncology. Understanding of regulatory environment and compliance.
