Automation Software Engineer - Professional

Danieli Automation, with over 40 years of global experience in the steel industry, is a leading technological partner providing advanced tools and electrical solutions for production management and process control. We are currently expanding our Automation Flat department team in Genoa (GE). Responsibilities Design and testing of Level 1 software for machinery and process control in metalworking plants, ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual requirements (functionality and performance). Development of software applications for PLC and HMI for machinery and process control, including technical documentation. Customization of standard solutions or projects to meet specific plant needs. Drafting of functional specifications for machines and plant processes. Preparation of basic documentation for software development and defining interfaces with third-party automation systems. Development of PLC and HMI software using appropriate development tools. Writing operator manuals. Project testing through integrated simulation, verifying compliance and performance. Commissioning of the project. Requirements Degree in technical disciplines such as electronic, electrical, computer engineering, or automation controls. Good knowledge of algorithmic techniques and fundamental data structures. Ability to read and understand industrial engineering documentation (electrical schematics, network diagrams, process flow diagrams, P&ID). Preferable knowledge of hardware and software design for industrial automation systems, especially with PLC. Preferable experience with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal and/or Rockwell Studio 5000. Preferable experience with Siemens S7-1500 and Rockwell ControlLogix architectures. Preferable knowledge of SCADA environments such as Wonderware Intouch and Siemens WinCC.
