Finance Business Partner Department: Finance & Procurement Salary: Starting from £46,735, rising to £55,755 Closing date: Sunday 06 July 2025 Were looking for a qualified and dynamic Finance Business Partner to join our Management Accounting team. About the role This is a pivotal role that blends technical expertise with strategic insight. Youll work closely with the Digital, Data & Technology Group, the Department of Planning, Performance & Strategic Change and the Department of Sport and Recreation to ensure a robust financial framework is in place for in-year financial monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. By providing accurate and timely financial data, you will enable departments to make well-informed decisions that align with the University's strategic objectives. Youll also play a key role in supporting strategic projectsdeveloping financial models, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and assessing the financial viability of new initiatives. By delivering clear and actionable financial insights, you will help project teams understand their finances, optimise resource allocation, and enhance project outcomes. Sitting within the MIS team in Finance and Procurement, youll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, mitigating financial risks, and promoting best practices in financial management. This position is offered on a full-time, open-ended basis. Youll benefit from a hybrid working pattern, working on-site two days per week (once at the Virgil Building, and another day on campus). About you Our ideal candidate will be: - A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) - Experienced in project accounting and financial modelling - Confident and experienced in building relationships with senior stakeholders - Technically proficient and able to understand and explain implications of decisions. - Able to adapt to a changing environment Experience within higher education, NHS, or the public sector is desirable due to the complexity of our organisation, but this is not essential. Whilst we value direct experience, were equally interested in candidates with strong potential and the right mindset.
