Structural Engineer

Senior Structural Design Engineer Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands (Offshore Industry) Contract: 12 Months (Freelance) We are currently supporting a major offshore project in the Netherlands and are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join the team on a long-term freelance basis. What will you do as a Senior Structural Design Engineer? In this role, you will be responsible for the design and integration of structural components within offshore structures, specifically for projects like wind farms and installation equipment. Your key responsibilities will include: Inventing, selecting, specifying, and developing structural components and systems during the concept, basic, and detailed design phases. Working on the integration of components such as pile guiding tools, upending tools, foundation pile grippers, grout seals, jacking systems, hydraulic cylinders, shafts, bearings, and more. Translating the functional requirements of these systems (e.g., moving, rotating, fixing, locking) into practical designs, specifying sizing, and working closely with suppliers and customers on product selection. Performing design analyses and studies, including preparing accompanying reports, to ensure the suitability of chosen structural solutions. What’s required for this role? Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering 8 years of experience in the relevant discipline and offshore market 6 years of experience in a similar senior position Experience with FEM modeling for loads and structural elements Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) Good knowledge of English (Dutch is a plus) Entitled to work in the Netherlands This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to leading offshore projects while working in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
