THE ROLE Job Title: Local Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Overview: Local CFO will play a critical role in overseeing the financial performance and strategy of the company's Mexican operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with global corporate objectives and will lead financial planning, reporting, risk management, and strategic initiatives while fostering collaboration between local and global teams. Reporting to: Local CEO Regional CFO (dotted line). Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s short- and long-term business goals. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to drive profitable growth and operational efficiency. Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and local executive team. Financial Operations and Reporting: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and treasury management. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulatory requirements and international gapp (IFRS ). Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with Mexican financial regulations, including reporting to the Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas (CNSF) and other relevant bodies. Oversee internal controls and implement measures to mitigate financial risks. Ensure full compliance of internal local and group policies Support risk management processes through Level 1 Controls. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the local finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive integration between financial and operational goals. Global Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between local operations and global finance teams. Align local financial practices and reporting with regional and global standards Other Key Functions: Monitor and manage capital adequacy and solvency in compliance with local insurance regulations. Oversee investment strategies and performance of local insurance reserves in collaboration with global investment teams. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification is preferred. MBA or advanced degree in finance or related fields is a plus. Professional Experience: 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a focus on the insurance or financial services industry. Strong knowledge of Mexican financial regulations and local market dynamics. Proven track record of success in a multinational corporation, preferably within a matrix organization. Skills and Competencies: Deep understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory frameworks (CNSF requirements). Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing diverse teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish and English.
