Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer with experience in the wire and cable harness industry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production of wire harness assemblies. Key Responsibilities: Process Development: Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes for wire harness production, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and assembly. Production Support: Provide daily support to production teams, troubleshooting issues related to tooling, equipment, materials, and methods. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and quality enhancement through lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Tooling & Equipment: Specify, procure, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, and equipment specific to wire and harness assembly. Documentation: Create and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow charts, PFMEAs, and control plans. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001/AS9100) and customer requirements. New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with design and product development teams to transition new harness designs from prototype to full-scale production. Training: Train and guide production staff on new processes, tools, and technologies. Data Analysis: Use data-driven approaches to monitor key metrics (yield, downtime, cycle time) and implement corrective actions as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , or a related field. 3 years of experience in a wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes, tools, and standards . Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams , and harness routing. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing ERP systems. Experience with lean manufacturing , 5S , and Six Sigma principles. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620. Experience with automotive, aerospace, or defense industry standards and requirements. Knowledge of automated harness assembly equipment (e.g., Komax, Schleuniger).
