Construction Project Engineer

Job Description Job Description We participate in E-Verify (Employment Eligibility). We are hiring a Project Engineer! The Construction Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role serves as a technical support between the field, project management, and subcontractors, ensuring project documentation, schedule tracking, and quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities · Communication and Coordination of Projects. · Procurement and Logistics of equipment, tools and materials. · Safety guidelines and quality support by visiting regular sites. · Help prepare and distribute meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence. · Assist in reviewing and verifying project drawings, plans, and shop drawings. · Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards. · Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and documentation. · Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met. · Track and process RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and other project-related documents. · Support field operations by resolving technical issues and ensuring project specifications are followed. · Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure timely delivery of materials and information, and cost management. · Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to address design or constructability issues. · Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills (MUST HAVE) · OSHA 30 certification preferred (or OSHA 10 minimum). · Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and project teams. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings. · Experience in commercial, residential, or underground utility projects. · Solid understanding of safety regulations. · Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment. · Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam). Qualifications · Strong attention to detail. · Strong organizational skills. · Dependable, professional, and results driven. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to lead by example and maintain a safety-first type of mindset. · Ability to solve problems on the fly and maintain productivity under pressure. · Comfortable with daily reporting, documentation, and communicating with project managers, project engineers and foreman crews. · Proficiency with jobsite software, mobile apps, or digital reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, etc.). Work Environment · Lift up to 25 lbs. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Stand or walk for extended periods. · Navigate active construction sites safely. · Ability to work extended hours and weekends as project needs dictation. Work in all weather conditions (Drive around to get to job sites and office). Combination of office and field work. Must be able to visit and inspect job sites regularly.
