Job Description Job Description Salary: 69,000-$100,000 DOE Position Title: Senior Accountant Reports to: Director Position Description: The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position oversees the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant serves as the lead for the accounting department, supervising day-to-day functions, supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis, and managing special projects as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned) Oversee all accounting functions, including month-end and year-end closing, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and review internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Manage intercompany accounting transactions, reconciliations, and settlements. Supervise and provide guidance to the accounts payable and accounts receivable staff. Monitor cash flow and aging reports, and ensure timely receivables and payables processing. Lead audits, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure audit readiness. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to finance, systems improvements, or compliance. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements. Maintains accounts by identifying, verifying, and recording transactions. Direct role in the monthly financial close, including journal entries, P&L statement reviews, monthly financial reporting & account analyses, etc. Maintain financial security by following internal accounting procedures. Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports. Reconciles financial discrepancies. Works with other Directors to increase the companys position within the industry. Build a working relationship and communication with staff, and provide appropriate support. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with high accuracy. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to use data to create budgets for companies and departments Ability to identify problems, collect data, confirm facts, and execute solutions for the corresponding problem Technical/Professional Knowledge Ability to maintain a professional attitude during stressful situations Preferred Qualifications: Highly proficient in Excel spreadsheets and 10-Key Able to articulate financial concepts in laymans terms Understands the manufacturing cycle Preferred Education and Experience: Previous Management experience Travel: No regular travel is expected. Computer Skills: Proficient in Excel, Accounting software, Time Keeping software Safety and Housekeeping : Adhere to the companys safety and housekeeping standards and procedures.
