The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. IFAD finances programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and advocates at the local, national and international level for policies that contribute to rural transformation. The Corporate Services Department (CSD) provides IFAD with the human resources, management services, information technology resources, and medical support services required to allow IFAD to meet its objectives of enabling rural people overcome poverty. CSD is led by an Associate Vice-President, CSD, and is comprised of three (3) divisions: People and Culture Division (PCD), Information and Communications Technology Division (ICT), Management Services Division (MSD) and one unit: the Health & Wellness Unit (HWU). The Management Services Division (MSD) provides high-quality customer-oriented, sustainable, timely, effective and efficient management and operational support services to clients globally to satisfy current and future corporate needs in support of IFAD's mandate and mission and in close collaboration with our internal and external partners. MSD supports IFAD's core activities across all duty stations globally and facilitates day-to-day business operations in line with internationally accepted best practices. MSD global services encompass: Security and Business Continuity, Corporate Procurement, Asset and Insurance management, Facilities Services, Records, Archives and mail management as well as Privileges and Immunities and Travel and Visa Services. MSD works in close collaboration with its clients to enable operations, facilitate decentralization, improve internal processes, and foster collaboration within the UN system and the IFIs. MSD is led by a Divisional Director and is comprised of five (5) sections: the Travel, Visa, Privileges and Immunities Section (MSD-TVPI), the Security Section (MSD-Security), the Procurement, Inventory & Insurance Section (MSD-PROC), the Facilities, Services and Records Management Section (MSD-FSR), and the Regional Teams Management Section (MSD-RTM). Job Role The Security Analyst is an entry level position aimed at developing expertise in a broad range of security tasks and requires knowledge of the technical concepts and tools of a specialized field of work. As a junior professional, the analyst is expected to understand the subject matter area in the context of the Fund's programmes. They will implement policies, approaches, models and methodologies to address emerging needs and support the team's capacity to provide technically competent security services and business continuity planning support to client departments across the Fund. Assignments typically involve initial case-by-case analysis, including research and identification of precedents. The Analyst performs both routine and non-routine tasks independently, following established precedents. For complex, precedent-setting recommendations, the analyst consults with a supervisor or other subject matter expert. The primary role of the Security Analyst is to collate, analyse, assess and present security and business continuity data and trends and compliance to support decision-making processes related to the safety and security of IFAD personnel, assets and premises and to enhance resilience of operations. The Security Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive security risk assessments, providing recommendations for security measures, and supporting the implementation of security plans and protocols. This role reviews and supports implementation and testing of business continuity plans by the Security Officers, highlighting vulnerabilities and proposing improvements. This role also monitors and coordinates security compliance, supporting the Senior/Security Officers in ensuring applicable Security Risk Management Measures are implemented in IFAD programmes, premises, missions, events and other activities. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills to translate complex security information into actionable insights for IFAD personnel staff and stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring the security environment, producing security reports, providing timely security information, and monitoring implementation of security risk management measures and business continuity plans. Additionally, the analyst will also assist in coordinating security and business continuity operations, contributing to emergency response plans, and ensuring IFAD personnel are kept informed about security developments. Areas - security management, management, business continuity management, organisational resilience, business administration, disaster or emergency management, or related area. A bachelor's degree, or similar level qualification from a Police/Military Academy, in combination with an additional 4-year relevant experience will also be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.* Degree must be from an accredited institution listed on https://www.whed.net/home.php. Level - Advanced university degree The following certifications are highly desirable: Business Continuity Management e.g. CBCI/DBCI/ISO Compliance Management The following certifications are an asset: Security Analysis Process and Practice (SAPP) Experience: At least two years of professional experience in security analysis, security risk management, security compliance monitoring, business continuity or related areas. Experience working in international organizations or in field operations, including high-risk environments, is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNSMS and UN security protocols is an asset.
