Bus Mechanic / PCV Technician / PSV Engineer Days Only Location: Bourton-on-the-Water or Cheltenham depot available Pay Rate: £20.60 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (47.5 hours per week) On-Call: 1 week in every 68 weeks (£175 per week on-call allowance) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Company: EthTech Talent Ltd (recruiting on behalf of a trusted bus and coach operator) Overview EthTech Talent Ltd is recruiting for a skilled Bus Mechanic / PSV Technician / PCV Engineer on behalf of a major UK public transport company. This is a full-time, permanent role based at the Bourton-on-the-Water depot, offering regular weekday hours with no rotating shift requirements. If you have experience in maintaining and repairing public service vehicles (PSV) , passenger carrying vehicles (PCV) , or heavy goods vehicles (HGV) , this role offers a stable schedule and excellent earning potential. Key Responsibilities Service, inspect, and repair a fleet of PCVs and buses in line with DVSA standards Conduct diagnostic testing on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems Accurately record work carried out using tablets and fleet management software Use OEM technical manuals and documentation to follow procedures Comply with all workshop health and safety regulations Work independently and support the team as required Carry out any other duties relevant to the PSV mechanic role Candidate Requirements NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent recognised qualification Alternatively, 5 years of hands-on experience working on buses, coaches, PCVs, or HGVs Experience in servicing and repairing public service vehicles is highly desirable Comfortable using diagnostic software and electronic job cards Strong problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset Salary & Benefits Earnings between £57,000 £60,000 per year (based on base pay, on-call, and potential overtime) (£49K-£52K Base) £175 weekly on-call allowance (1 week in every 68 weeks) Company pension scheme Free or subsidised travel Free on-site parking Excellent transport links Overtime and weekend work available if desired Application Process Brief call to discuss the role and suitability Depot-based interview (3045 minutes) Job offer issued to successful candidates Interviews can usually be arranged within 1 to 2 working days.
