Job Description

As the General Services Manager , you will lead and manage the delivery of integrated facilities management services at one or more client sites in the Gloucester area. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across soft and hard FM services, driving client satisfaction, compliance, and continuous improvement in line with the companys values and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee the daily delivery of facilities services including cleaning, catering, waste, security, reception, maintenance, and other soft/hard FM functions. Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a diverse team of site-based service staff, supervisors, and contractors, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement. Client Relationship: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring service levels meet contractual KPIs and SLAs. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure services are delivered in line with the company's policies and UK regulations including HSE, COSHH, and risk assessments. Budget & Financial Control: Manage site budgets effectively, controlling costs and driving efficiencies without compromising service quality. Sustainability & Innovation: Implement sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement strategies to enhance the customer experience and operational performance. Reporting: Prepare and present operational and financial reports, audit findings, and client updates. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience in a facilities or operations management role, ideally within a multi-service FM environment. Strong people management and leadership skills. Client-focused with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Knowledge of statutory compliance and health and safety regulations in FM. Budgeting and financial management experience. Technically qualified (Electrical or Mechanical) Experience with CAFM systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
