DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE Merchandising is a key area in the global growth at Bata and focuses on the science of the product strategy. Global merchandising continues developing merchandising initiatives that aim to attain commercial success across all regions. In this role, the Global Merchandising Senior Specialist will focus on 2 key areas: 1. Building the analytical foundation for global collections, and 2. Partnering with country (OPCO) merchandising to assure sure both pre-season and in-season initiatives are aligned with global strategy and completed according to global guidelines. KEY CHALLENGES In this multifaceted position, the Global Merchandising Senior Specialist will be at the helm of driving success by orchestrating the efficient integration and deployment of several initiatives including: Global Collections, country/OPCO Ranges and Merchandise planning, Interim merchandising solutions design and implementation (ie. Store clustering, weekly reporting, etc), Critical best business practices adoption and monitoring (ie. Markdown optimisation, SOR targets, etc) Support to merchandising processes, including the following: merchandise planning, assortment planning, location planning, data & analytics, reporting and monitoring Communications, including creating compelling and creative presentations Through strategic planning and meticulous execution, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in elevating merchandising processes and tools and hence, contributing to the company's bottom-line growth. REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will possess: Minimum 5 years of merchandising experience in an international retail organization with an understanding of business process, business requirements, and seasonal cycles (merchandising, merchandise planning, assortment planning, location planning) University degree (or equivalent) in related business, economics, retail management, analytial areas/background A passion for retail with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on improvements and growth An international mindset to work with teams across Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America Fluent in English a must, proficiency in other languages a plus Merchandise Planning tools (Blue Yonder, TXT, etc) Compelling and clear storylines to address stakeholders Passionate not only about retail and fashion, but also about technology and data Strong organizational skills with a focus on optimal workload balance Ability to work remotely (considering the resources are allocated in different Regions) LANGUAGES Fluent in English (spoken and written) Proficiency in other languages is a plus LOCATION Limena, Italy (PD) Possibility of working in Smart Working for part of the week after an initial on-site training period Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Analyst and Strategy/Planning Industries Retail, Retail Apparel and Fashion, and Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Bata Italy by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Planning Specialist” roles.
